Hot tub comparison · six model examples

Compare the details before you get the quote.

These profiles expand the finder’s shortlist with the dimensions, capacity, electrical listings, weight, price context, and tradeoffs published by each manufacturer. They are research leads, not hands-on reviews or a universal ranking.

Six models, six different compromises.

Seat counts describe the manufacturer’s published capacity. The products are not directly comfort-tested, and a voltage option is not an electrical approval. Measure the exact location and delivery route before narrowing your choice.

Compact · mixed lounge

Jacuzzi J-215

Compact lounge format with a full-body lounge seat and side-by-side seating. The manufacturer describes it for small patios and spaces.

$6,000–$8,999 manufacturer-published range

Why it may fit

  • Listed 69-inch short side can suit some constrained layouts.
  • The mix of lounge and upright seats offers more than one body position.
  • Jacuzzi publishes a model-specific price band, useful for an initial equipment budget.

Tradeoffs to verify

  • Its 80-inch long side, cover movement, steps, and service access still need measured clearance.
  • The 120V cord and 240V options are different electrical paths; confirm exact configuration, circuit, and installation scope.
  • The $6,000–$8,999 range allows for optional upgrades and does not establish your local delivered price.

Ask the dealer

“Which exact electrical mode is quoted, what changes between them, and does the price include the cover, steps, delivery, placement, and startup?”

Compact · semi-lounge

Jacuzzi J-315

Three seating options combine a semi-lounge with upright seats. Its published longest side is 76 inches in the model’s 66 × 76-inch footprint.

$10,000–$14,999 manufacturer-published range

Why it may fit

  • The 76-inch maximum footprint dimension is the smallest of the six examples here.
  • Three seating options combine reclined and upright positions.
  • The shorter 31.75-inch shell height may matter for some access routes, but measure transport orientation and clearances.

Tradeoffs to verify

  • “Three seating options” is not a guarantee that three adults will be comfortable together; test the actual seats.
  • The Jacuzzi page lists multiple 240V amperage options and a convertible 120V setup. Confirm the exact wiring diagram and configuration.
  • The manufacturer range includes optional upgrades; confirm model year, options, and local price.

Ask the dealer

“Can we wet-test the lounge and upright seats, and can you quote the exact 120V or 240V setup with every included option and delivery charge listed?”

Narrow rectangle · lounge

Hot Spring Stride

A three-seat lounge model with a lower 29-inch shell and a long, narrow rectangular footprint compared with the square models below.

*Manufacturer filled weight includes water and three adults at 175 lb each. Use the exact pre-delivery sheet and local structural review for your base.

Why it may fit

  • The 65-inch short side and 29-inch shell height may help with some space or access constraints.
  • 115V/20A GFCI cord is one listed path; 115V/30A and 230V/50A are also listed configurations.
  • Manufacturer lists 225 gallons and a 2,975-pound filled weight on its stated assumption.

Tradeoffs to verify

  • The 84-inch length is still substantial. Measure gates, turns, overheads, and the final position.
  • The manufacturer notes a GFCI-protected subpanel is required for its 30A and 230V modes.
  • A 115V listing does not tell you whether the household circuit is suitable; an electrician must confirm the exact installation.

Ask the dealer

“Which power configuration is reflected in this MSRP and quote, what heater behavior changes between modes, and what electrical work must my electrician price?”

Five seats · double lounge

Hot Spring Pace

Five listed seats with a double-lounge layout. This is a useful example when more than one user wants a reclined position, but the configuration deserves an in-person trial.

*Manufacturer filled weight includes water and five adults at 175 lb each. Use the exact pre-delivery sheet and local structural review for your base.

Why it may fit

  • Five published seats and two lounges create a distinct seating layout.
  • The manufacturer lists 115V or 230V and provides specific circuit modes on its specification page.
  • At 82 × 82 inches, it is a square footprint rather than a long rectangle.

Tradeoffs to verify

  • Two lounge seats may reduce the number of upright positions; check how all regular users want to sit.
  • The manufacturer notes a GFCI-protected subpanel is required for 30A and 230V modes.
  • The $11,499 MSRP excludes any difference from local delivery, options, taxes, and site work.

Ask the dealer

“Can everyone who will use it try the double lounges, and can you itemize the selected power mode, cover, steps, freight, placement, startup, and tax?”

Four seats · open layout

Hot Spring Beam

A compact square with four listed open seats. Its published configuration differs from the Stride and Pace electrical options, so compare the actual installation path—not voltage alone.

*Manufacturer filled weight includes water and four adults at 175 lb each. Use the exact pre-delivery sheet and local structural review for your base.

Why it may fit

  • Open seating provides four upright positions rather than assigning one to a lounge.
  • Published square footprint is 80 inches on each side.
  • Manufacturer lists 115V/20A with a GFCI cord or a 230V/50A configuration.

Tradeoffs to verify

  • It has a higher displayed MSRP than the other priced models in this compact comparison.
  • The 230V option includes a GFCI-protected subpanel in the manufacturer listing; confirm exact electrician scope.
  • Open seating does not guarantee all users will find the depth or positions comfortable.

Ask the dealer

“What is included in the MSRP, is the GFCI subpanel included in any package, and what exact service clearance does the equipment side require?”

Round · open social layout

Bullfrog X6R

A round, open-layout example with five listed seats and no lounge seat. Bullfrog directs visitors to configure the spa for pricing, so this profile keeps its price unscored until a local quote is available.

Local quote required

*Bullfrog states these weights include the cover. Verify the filled-load assumptions and required support with the dealer and qualified local professional.

Why it may fit

  • Round geometry can work well for face-to-face conversation and a more central placement.
  • No lounge seat, leaving all five listed places in the upright layout.
  • Both 120V and 240V paths and a model-specific filled weight are listed by the manufacturer.

Tradeoffs to verify

  • Diameter is 79 inches before space for equipment access, cover handling, steps, and circulation.
  • Price is not displayed as a fixed snapshot; configure the exact model and request a written local quote.
  • The manufacturer page has trim-package wording that should be resolved in the quote; confirm the exact trim and included equipment.

Ask the dealer

“Please quote the exact X6R trim and included equipment, list every delivery and startup charge, confirm the filled-load basis, and attach the model-specific electrical requirements.”

How to compare

Keep the quote apples to apples.

Get the same scope: Model, year, shell and cabinet, cover, steps, water care, freight, unloading, placement, startup, tax, and excluded work.

Measure the whole route: Gate width, turns, elevation, overhead, staging, and any crane or spa-mover requirement. Product footprint is not delivery clearance.

Have power confirmed: Ask a qualified electrician to verify panel capacity, dedicated circuit, GFCI, wire, disconnect location, and the exact model wiring diagram.

Check the base: Use the maker’s pre-delivery documentation and the actual filled load for the quoted model and configuration.

Try before choosing: Published seat count is not a comfort rating. Wet-test the seats, footwell, depth, entry, and lounge position if possible.
