Recovery-zone planner

Plan the transition—not two pieces of equipment.

A useful hot-and-cold zone includes supported equipment, dry circulation, safe entry, privacy, drainage, lighting, service access, and enough electrical capacity for the actual simultaneous loads.

Layout checklist

Draw these seven things before selecting finishes.

01

Dry path

Short, level, nonslip route between heat, cold, towels, and indoor access.

02

Entry zones

Door swings, steps, hand support, covers, and room for a helper.

03

Service space

Removable panels, chiller airflow, heater access, filters, drains, and replacement route.

04

Water route

Fill hose, controlled drain, splash, condensation, runoff, and winter shutdown.

05

Power route

Dedicated circuits, disconnects, GFCI, trench, controls, lights, and simultaneous load.

06

Privacy view

Sight lines from house, street, neighbors, cameras, and future landscaping.

07

Emergency exit

Unobstructed route, lighting, phone access, supervision, and easy equipment shutoff.
