For manufacturers, dealers & installers

Partnerships should make the buyer’s next step clearer.

Backyard Shortlist is building practical planning tools for homeowners comparing outdoor upgrades. We are open to a small number of carefully scoped pilot conversations as the site grows.

01 · What we are building

Help people compare the whole project.

Outdoor purchases often require more than a product choice. Delivery, access, site preparation, electrical or utility work, permits, installation, upkeep, and service can change whether an option fits.

Our resources organize that work around buyer goals: recover and recharge, gather and entertain, or add useful space. We aim to send readers to the most relevant research or vendor conversation—not to maximize clicks regardless of fit.

Planning before productMatchers, footprint tools, project ranges, site checks, and whole-yard planning.
Scope made visibleQuote worksheets surface unknown costs, exclusions, and assumptions.
Research with limitsManufacturer facts link to sources; we disclose when we have not tested products.

02 · A possible pilot

Start small and measure what helps.

Any future collaboration would begin with a written scope and a limited test. Depending on fit and the agreement, that could mean clearly labeled referral links, a direct link to a relevant dealer or manufacturer, or a buyer-requested introduction.

We do not currently collect buyer contact details or transmit matcher answers. A lead handoff would require a separate, explicit opt-in that names the recipient and explains what information is shared. We will not quietly turn saved plans into sales leads.

Useful pilot inputs
  • Current, model-specific specifications and prices, with dates and source links.
  • Service area, delivery and installation scope, and what remains excluded.
  • Dealer service and warranty responsibilities in the relevant market.
  • A way to measure qualified referrals without overstating reach or results.

03 · The standards

Commercial support cannot buy the recommendation.

Relevance comes first. A product or provider must fit the page and the buyer’s stated constraints.

Compensation is disclosed. Paid links, sponsored content, or referral arrangements would be labeled near the placement.

No pay-to-rank. Payment would not determine matcher results, editorial conclusions, or comparison order.

Claims need support. Product specifications and pricing should be sourceable and kept current; installation and local requirements remain subject to written verification.

Buyers stay in control. No personal information is shared with a partner without the visitor’s explicit request.
